LYS - first kntting post

Up until now this hasn't been a knitting blog. But I figured since this blog is linked off of ravelry. I should do a few entries about knitting. So here is the first.

I visited a local yarn store (LYS) on Saturday call Spin a Yarn. The staff at Spin A Yarn was great. I really enjoyed browsing all the yarn. I signed up for a yarn class so hopefully I'll learn how to substitute yarn in patterns. I bought some yarn to make a baby blanket for a friend who is expecting.




I also finished a few other projects over the weekend. I made an owl dish cloth from a pattern my friend recommended:

I need to finish my first sock attempt. I have one sock made but I'm having trouble convincing myself to start the second. Second sock syndrome has hit hard. :-/

A New Year... A New Dog

So the holidays kept me pretty busy. Plus my husband found my blog. I wasn't hiding it from him. I just didn't think he would care. Well he made fun of me for about a week. My theory is he'll have his own blog by the end of the month. :-)


We got a new puppy a few weeks after the holidays. His name is Milo. He is a mini-long haired dachshund. He is about 6 months old and is getting along well with Mieke. We survived the first few nights of non-stop crying. Housebreaking is going slowly. Here he is with Mieke, snoozing on the couch:
