Adventures in canning

I know I haven't posted in awhile. It can be hard to post with a toddler. Yes I said toddler. Jocelyn has been walking for 3 weeks or so now. She can really move and loves to plan on the local playgrounds climbing all the steps.

So I tried my hand at canning. We now have a pantry full of tomato juice (yeah not so sure that was a good call), salsa (super yummy), and ketchup. Plus some homemade relish. The ketchup is really good but it took a LONG time. Not a project to start at 7 pm.

Went grocery shopping today and the bill with coupons came to only 73.01. I feel like that was a good trip. Not going to bore you with all the details but I used the Weis $10 coupon from the paper. The great thing about that bill is it included food for entertaining tomorrow and meals for the week. Now last week's bill wasn't so nice but we had stocked up on ground meat and fish for the freezer. I am sure that and the CSA are part of why this week's bill was more reasonable.
